iDEA

When approached with the opportunity to design an Organic Market next to a beautiful heritage building that used to be the University of Design, four concepts came to the forefront: Interaction, Symbiosis, Sinergy and Experience.

A simple, cheap and movable structure was required to house the Organic Market venders of “EL Buen Mercado”. However, a typical awning would only ruin the neighboring heritage site, this is where good affordable design came into place. A basic modular unit is designed with affordable materials such as steel tubes, galvanized sheets, plywood and bamboo. The module is completely articulated facilitating its assembly and dismantlement for potential new placements or configurations.

The competition called for a simple yet creative way of making the shopping at the organic market into a wonderful integrated experience.
